In Their Own Story

Crash gripped the edge of the shimmering void as the air crackled with static electricity. Behind him, Cortex laughed maniacally, his shadow stretching across the laboratory floor. With a deep breath, the bandicoot leaped into the swirling maelstrom of neon light. The world twisted and spun, colors bleeding together like wet paint. Suddenly, the roar of dinosaurs replaced the hum of machinery. He had arrived in the past, but the future was still waiting to be saved.

Reader's Guide

Dr. Neo Cortex activates his Time Twister device to gain control over history itself. This action creates unstable rifts that scatter Crash Bandicoot across various eras and dimensions. To defeat Cortex, Crash must traverse these portals, collecting resources and defeating local guardians in each timeline. The villain aims to rewrite reality so he rules the present unopposed while the hero is stranded in the past. Coco supports from the base of operations, providing guidance on which rifts are safe to enter. As Crash progresses, the rifts become more volatile, threatening to collapse the entire timeline if not stabilized quickly. Ultimately, defeating the final boss requires synchronizing with the time stream to close the rifts permanently.
